Probably
the "LAST" coal fired frying range
still operational in the country.
The range was made by Frank
Ford of Halifax in 1948. Back in those days, a coal fired range
was the only option available with which to cook. Every village
in England would have its village fish and chip shop, each cooking using
coal and Beef Dripping. |
|
Sadly
those days are long gone and today the emphasis is upon gas
or electric ranges catering to high volume throughput predominantly
located in the urban environment. This need to achieve high
volume, has unfortuntely led to the adoption of modern "easy"
ingredients and cooking techniques that bear no resemblance
to the original processes and ingredients that gave that great
British Fish And Chip taste.
Thankfully, that is not the case at this Fish And Chip Shop.
Very little has changed since 1948. The emphasis is upon providing
the finest quality Fish And Chips produced in a way long long
forgotten by most. We intend to continue with the "old fashioned"
approach as long as our customers continue to want it. We believe
that you won't find better Fish And Chips anywhere else, and
you certainly won't find another shop with quite as much character
or originality. |
